Evacuation

If the fire alarm sounds or you are otherwise notified to evacuate the building, exit via the stairwells. Exit at Floor 1 and rendezvous with your employees on the surface parking lot on the east side of the building. Ensure all employees and visitors are accounted for.

There are three (3) emergency escape stairwells in 80 Humphreys Center. All empty onto the first floor near a designated emergency exit. Listed below are the specific routes to take in the event of a fire alarm or other emergency that requires building evacuation.

  1. North Stairwell – Descend the stairwell to first floor and proceed through the north emergency exit door (behind Suite 101) and out of the building. If this door is blocked, ascend the north stairwell to the second floor. Follow the corridor south to the center stairwell, located behind the passenger elevators. Descend the stairwell to first floor and proceed through the lobby and exit through either the west or east lobby entrance doors. Proceed to the surface parking lots to the west or south of the building and await further instructions.

  1. Center Stairwell – Descend the stairwell to first floor and proceed through the lobby and exit through either the west or east lobby entrance doors. Proceed to the surface parking lot to the west of the building. If these doors are blocked, proceed through the lobby to the west entrance door by the lab box staging area. Exit through this door and proceed to the surface parking lot to the south of the building and await further instructions.

  2. South Stairwell – Descend the stairwell to first floor and proceed through the south emergency exit door (behind Suite 100) and out of the building. If this door is blocked, ascend the south stairwell to the second floor. Follow the corridor north to the center stairwell, located behind the passenger elevators. Descend the stairwell to first floor and proceed through the lobby and exit through either the west or east lobby entrance doors. Proceed to the surface parking lots to the west or south of the building and await further instructions.

A floor warden is assigned to each floor of the building to support tenants and visitors during evacuations and other emergency situations. Floor wardens are trained volunteers and are identifiable by their orange vests. In the event of an emergency, follow the instructions of the floor warden.
